Default Intuitive Parking Assist Settings Adjustment?

New to this forum, longtime Lexus owner, traded 2012 CT200h for 2011 HS250h Premium with Nav (24,000 miles) on Saturday. It has park assist. The park assist appears to be on every time I start the car and unless I turn it off when I start moving it SCREAMS really loudly. The manual claims you can adjust the settings through the steering wheel buttons. However when I tried this, no setting for park assist appeared. I looked in the Nav setting screens and did not see anything. Does anyone know how to adjust this or do I have to go to the dealer? Thanks!

Sorry can't help, I have an 2010 . What does screams mean ? I've never had a issue only goes off when I'm close to something . I currently have a 11 CT with real leather and navi. And the 10 HS . I like both a lot but the HS is bigger and faster and has more lexus stuff on it . Just wondering what your think about about ? I've had the HS three years and the CT going on three weeks .

There is a setting for the distance in the Navi screen and that's the only one I know about . If you find it let us know

I have a 2010 with Navigation and Parking Assist. The volume adjustment is shown on page 383 of the Navigation Manual:

Setting an alert volume
The alert volume can be adjusted.
1. Push the “MENU” button and select
“Setup”.
2. Select “Vehicle” on the “Setup”
screen.
3. Select “LEXUS Park Assist” on the
“Vehicle Settings” screen.
4. Select the desired button.
The volume has 5 levels, increasing with
higher value.
5. Select “Save”.

I assume yours would be the same setup.

I figured out that the parking assist was installed by the dealer, Lexus of Greenwich, CT for the first owner. I found it on the my Lexus service history and then spoke to the dealer service dept. It has a green off/on button and turns on automatically when you start the car, you have to turn it off when you start moving. If you leave it on a loud siren like buzzer starts making a lot of noise until you turn off the park assist.
It is not incorporated into any of the vehicle computer systems, that is why it did not show up on the steering wheel or Nav programs. I think this is backward, it should be off all the time and you only have to turn it on. Having it self activate every time the car is started and then having to turn it off is annoying.

ceads9 - We had the CT200h F-Sport Special Edition for 2.5 years and 31,000 miles. It was fun, but loud and very rough riding with the F-Sport springs and sway bars. The engine made a lot of rough noise when accelerating and then not getting much speed. Ran it in Sport Mode most of the time. Visibility out the back and rear sides is bad. Handling is nimble and the best part. Wife thinks the low seats and lack of adjustment on the passenger seat were hurting her hip. The HS250h appears much quieter, and faster, even in regular drive mode. Seats and driving position are great. High position reminds me of an SUV. Steering and handling feel very German like, nothing like an ES or RX. Overall I look forward to driving and owning this a long time. Now to replace the 2 OEM Toyo crap tires on the rear axles with 2 Goodyear Eagle Sport tires. The seller had put Goodyear Eagle Sports on the front and they are much quieter and ride better.

Aftermarket park assist ?? That a new one, espescially since they use sensors in the bumper. Where's your sensors at?

Sensors are in both front and rear bumpers. 4 in back and I think 2 in front. Painted white to match car.
Little green button on lower left part of dash where factory button would be located. that lights up when car is started and you have to shut it off once you start moving. Now it is becoming a habit after a week. Start car, attach seat belt, shut off parking assist, release parking brake, shift into gear.
