Default 19" wheels?

Newbie here,

I'm hoping to get some advise from experienced lexus hybrid owners. I want to remove the stock 18" rims and replace with 19", been searching all over and can't find any details if this is possible or a bad idea. Will the 19" wheels mess up anything with the brakes and how they charge the battery? I'm aware the gas mileage might be effected but if I get tires that are the same diameter as the stock then I don't think it will be much of a difference.

I'm looking at getting these 19" lexus RS350 or 450H, Hollander # 74254, take offs so that I keep the OEM look, don't want aftermarket. The 19" wheels are the same 7.5 width as the 18"s I currently have.

Now for the tires, I'm thinking if I get 225/40/19, then the overall diameter and width should be almost identical to the 18" tires, therefore not changing much as far as gas mileage. The only difference will be the weight of the tire/wheel combination and I haven't gotten that far yet.

Has anyone did something similar or see any issues with this change? Any feedback will be really appreciated. Thank you.

If you're going to the 19" unless you keep the same overall diameter, you'll change you speedometer too.

Try this site:

Thank you, that site is handy when comparing the tire sizes, so it appears the 225/40/19 is the closest match in diameter to the stock 225/45/18, therefore speedometer shouldn't be an issue.

Has anyone else put 19"s on their 250h?

Will the offset of a rim from a RX350 or RX450h line up properly on the 250H?

I don't think it will.

I think the offset of the HS is 39mm and the RX is 35mm. I might have that reversed, but I don't think they are the same.

I would stick with your 45 profile 18s.

Consider the IS 250C wheels, they might be a better fit than the RX wheels.

I considered the 250C wheels too, but they are more wide than the 19" RX. Therefore, I don't think I would be much, if any, better off with gas mileage on a wider wheel vs the 19" that is the same width as what I currently have.

Has anyone around here put 19" wheels on a 250H?

I am looking at doing the same thing...I put aftermarket 18's on my HS with a 40 offset and I wish I would have gotten 30 or 35. If the wheels are FWD, then you should be fine. The AWD/RWD wheels typically have a larger center bore, but most lexus hubs are the same.

I was looking at the gs350 fsport 19's, but i also like the rx f-sports. They have some replica's on ebay for about 600, which is far less than lexus (2000 w/o tires).
