I had just assumed the mirrors were not LED since you had to change the relay. But it's intersting, looking at your video, the mirror seems to come on and off very fast! And looking at page 479 of the manual, the list of LED bulbs are side turn signal, rear side marker, stop/tail, high mounted stop, So maybe it already is LED!

Even with a regular non LED happy relay, if the mirror lights are run in series using the same relay output to the front regular bulb turn signals, the overall resistance should be the same. This condition should not cause the hyper flash. When you remove the resistance of the front bulbs from the circuit, that's when you get hyper flash.

It is early, and that is poorly written, but I hope it makes sense.

Yep, I get you, so basically you only need the flasher if the resistance in front drop too low, so it sounds like it does not matter in the rear?

With the oem relay if you replace the bulbs in the rear you will have hyperflashing.

The relay is looking at the load as a whole.

I took a look at the mirrors, and they do see to turn on and off very fast. It also looks like 3 bulbs in each mirror. I would make sence to use LED since they are much smaller than regular lights. I wonder if the ground lumination lights are LED also?

On the mirrors, I thought you were talking about the puddle lamps. Those are NOT LED's and the ones next on my list to replace. The turn signals in the mirrors are LED's

To replace them (puddle lamps), you have to first pull off the mirror glass then remove the motor assembly. But before I do that, I want to make sure I get the right bulb.

Once again, I have to go to Japan for the cool stuff:
