What's the most convenient place under the hood to tap switched power? As in when the car is on this wire is hot, but not when it is off.

I am sure there are many but I wanted to know other's opinions.

  • I have owned many cars, and pulled power from many places.
  • The best place is from the fuse box, there is usually one under the hood and one in the passenger compartment
  • I am probably qualified to install whatever it is you want to install, but if it were mine, I'd probably have someone else do it.
  • If you have to ask this question, you are probably not qualified to install whatever it is, and I'd HIGHLY recommend you have someone else do it.

I am more than capable of finding a switched power source under the hood. I wasn't going to spend the time on it if someone else is already aware of an easily accessible one.

Thanks for chiming in though!
