Hey, wondering if anyone else is noting this problem. I have a premium 2010 HS250 tech pkg with 22K. It has run well without any glitches. Had the 15k service with fob battery changed. Shortly thereafter, began having notices on the display about "low battery" when I stopped the car and put into park. I assume that this is referring to the fob and not the car battery. I let it go for couple months, than was at the dealer for some other item and asked the service person about it. He just changed out the fob battery without any thought. It is still doing it occasionally, about every other week. I haven't had any other problems. My concern is whether there is a short circuit somewhere. Yesterday, I jumped out of the car after making a quick stop. The usual, set the brakes, park and the off button. Got back into the car, and nothing. Got a message on the dash that there was no fob, or undetectable. I took the fob, cycled it with locking the doors, opening the doors using the keyless entry, than tried again starting the car. This time no problem. Wondering if this is just a glitch or is the key fob battery really running down, or not being detected for some reason. I read somewhere that if you have two key fobs next to each other, it will run the battery fob down, but we have been doing this for a year before any problems. it all started after the service? Should I contact the dealer again? I just don't want to be stranded at work in the mountains after work without a working means of getting home at 7 pm at night, esp in the winter.

Possibly the first weak battery was replaced with another one?

I've had problems in the past with our Prius when the battery was low. Sometimes it thought the key was not in the car, sometimes the door would not open. A new battery usually got things working fine again.

its most likely key fob's battery has been sitting around for a while. I had similar experience before, all 4 batteries I bought from walmart shows low battery... they all probably have been on shelf for some time.

Or maybe the connectors that hold the battery in and contact the positive and negative side of the battery got messed up when he changed it ??

I had that happen to a watch once.

If the HS is like my previous Lexus', you won't get stranded even with a dead battery. Just press the start button with the fob and it will start. I've had to do this on an RX and an IS, it worked both times.
