Does it make any difference whether you put the car in the ECO mode by pushing the button above the transmission control lever or not? I have tried driving in the ECO mode and leaving it off and can't really tell. The ECO light to the left of the READY light seems to turn off and on the same either way.

The manual says something about throttling climate control to save electricity. I think you notice the most difference during the summer when driving with the A/C on.

the pedal feels alot heavier while its in eco mode too.

Yeah, ECO and Power modes are mostly a throttle sensitivity thing. ECO does cut back on AC usage, but as far as I can tell Power doesn't actually give you any more power on the HS. I hear on the CT it bumps up output on the electric motor, but not on the HS. I've tried Eco and Power, and as far as I can tell my mpg didn't change - but Eco was frustratingly lethargic.
