Who is considering buying an HS?
Just wondering, who is considering purchasing an HS once they come out?
It would be cool to spur some conversation amongst those who are truly interested.

The lease on my ES350 is up in mid-December. The HS250h will certainly be at the top of my list as a replacement. The drive train looks to be pretty much the same as the Camry hybrid. My reason for not getting a Camry hybrid is that I need a larger trunk. Hopefully the HS will do better.

The current Prius is actually surprisingly roomy inside, given the exterior looks small. I believe Prius is only an inche or so smaller here and there from a Camry. With that said, I would not get the HS. Saw it at the NY Autoshow and it's so not Lexus. It has the now "Lexus" family look that the ES and RX have, but that doesn't mean it's a luxurious look.
I'd get a Prius before I got this.

No, the HS is not my "style". I just wanted to see what kind of interest we had in the car on CL right now.

I would buy one...it would make a great all around town car next to my IS F.

As a daily/beater-ish car it really wouldn't be too bad

We are.
We drove a pre-production version some time ago at an event at Pelican Hill and really liked it.
We're thinking of a car for around town type driving since our fleet mostly eats gas around town and honestly, we haven't enjoyed our time behind the wheel of the Prius, Insight, or Civic Hybrids. The new Prius was promising until I sat in one. The driving position remains way too weird for me and I hate, hate, hate sitting so far back in a car.
The HS feels more like a real car rather than an appliance. And the technology is fantastic.
We plan more extensive test drives when they come out.
BTW - the only other vehicle we're seriously considering... a Jetta TDI sportwagen. Although it does not have the technology or reliability, it's a hell of a lot cheaper and drives much, much more like a real car than the other alternatives.

*raises hand* Looks good for a replacement for my IS300 which is getting to be 7 years old. I am also considering it as a daily beater too, for city driving, going to work, going to the grocery store, etc.

I drove it this past Sunday at Tarrytown New york and was really pleased with it. Definately thinking of it when my lease is up in a year. I was prelimarily quoted $35,000 to $45,000 at the event. The one I drove had the front camera navigation etc. I honestly thought who needs a front camera??? Well I could have used it today making a U turn on a narrow street.
I want one colour Black Sapphire!!!

I really, really hope that estimate is high by at least $5,000.

there is probably a reason for using the camry engine and 1gen IS design. Cost cutting. I hope lexus will price it right, aka cheap, around 34K should be good.

Not interested, although I admire how they addressed a certain niche. But for an enthusiast, no way.
