Default Finally getting my first HS

I will most likely purchase my first HS 250 H tomorrow in Southern California. It is a white 2010 with advanced technology. I'll be sure to let you know what I think!

Congrats! It's a fine car. Just turned 100k on my 2010, and she still looks new. I plan to give it to my girls for high school / college (they are currently 12). One O2 sensor gone bad in 7 years of ownership. And welcome to our very exclusive club!

Thanks, Magellan. There's a lot of helpful information on here that I'm grateful for.

Off I go to take a look at it.

I bought it. Drove it around in LA yesterday and it was a great test for the car and me. I think it's fantastic. It'll take me awhile to learn to use everything, but I don't know when I've been happier about a car purchase. Now for a quick cruise to Minnesota.

I drove the hs from South Pasadena to Minnesota in two days. No issues. I really like this car. Probably averaged 35 mpg. Lower on the 80 mph interstates, higher on roads with speed limit of 65 or lower.

I learned to hypermile when I had a Prius a few years ago (this is my fourth hybrid), but I don't think it would be effective at 80 mph. I think I will easily make the 40 mpg crowd at more reasonable speeds. I really like the tech package features. I used the LKA a lot.

UPDATE... I've added about 9000 miles since March, and it's a great car, just as I thought. No problems, and it's getting about 39mpg in summer driving.

Time to search the tire threads, because with all of these miles added, it'll be time for tires this fall.
