Help Identifying Part
Found this part laying on the floor in front of the driver's seat (near the carpet clip). No idea what it goes to, but the plastic appears to match the black plastic in the car. From the looks of it, it slides over/clips over something like a cap. the L shaped hole on the side (pic on right) is on each side of the item. Pic on left shows the bottom (there is a hole in the center which could slide over something. The side opposite is solid (like a cap).
No sign of damage to the part. Anyone have an idea as to what this is, where it goes?

Look under the driver side dash area. Requires a bit of contorting to lay on your back with a flashlight and look up into that space. It likely fell off of something up there, but whether you will be able to see or identify it is another challenge!

where your left foot rest while in the driver seat, there will be a stud that the plastic trim piece slides onto, this is the cap for that stud.

That was it! For reference, it is a threaded stud that looks like it gets a bolt (but doesn't) and the black plastic trim for the left side plastic (outboard the driver's feet) goes over it...The plastic piece I was asking about clicks over the threads and holds the plastic trim piece tightly in place. Below are pictures with and without the part reinstalled for the benefit of others who may have this happen! Note that for some reason, the forum rotated the pictures 90 degrees. The left side of the photo as shown here is actually the top. The plastic trim piece extending along the bottom of the photo is actually the left side (outboard) of the driver foot well.
Thanks to all for the quick answers.
