Hello ... thinking getting 2011 HS , any suggestion on what to watch for ? Is high mileage like 70k matters ? Thank you

Great cars. Very reliable. If at 70k I would get the transmission fluid changed, and the brake fluid flushed, but that is about it. You should be on the second or third set of tires at that mileage. If it has a clean CarFax and AutoCheck and the price is good then go for it. Check around on cars dot com for similar vehicles to see if there are more cars farther away. Who is selling it? Any warranty? CPO?

I prefer lower mileage cars but they are long lived with that Camry Hybrid engine and drivetrain.

it private dealer, 2010 w/87k for $18K, or 2011 w/44K for $23K, both have the same options ( nav, camera) I saw recall on 2010 for brakes issue, are those fix or still problems ? and any issue with main battery ? since it's hybrid, how long is the expectation ? do you guys know how much is the replacement if need it, try to keep the car for at least 8 years. Thank you

2011 is much better than 2010. Some 2010 models had an oil burning issue. See the thread in this forum.
To me it is a no brainer, spend the $5,000 more and you will save half that in repairs for brakes & tires and worries about other stuff breaking.
The hybrid batteries last a very long time and have an 8 year warranty.

I just bought one 3 days ago with 77k miles on it. it runs perfect all options work and getting 37 MPG

before buying i did my research comparing the Lexus HS to camry and ford fusion hybrids, the lexus is superior in terms of options, quality of its material and comfort of its driving.

I test drive the car, and I can feel the jitter ( like engine on and off ) is that normal ? also the engine noise is kinda loud,( compare to my GX ) I was driving like 50mph. thx

Thats normal, you'll feel the engine starting and stopping. The engine is also a little unrefined and the CVT causes the engine to drone. Overall your GX will be more refined feeling for sure.

Will I fell the same way on the freeway ? if go 65mph or more ....

Oh yeah, you're going to have engine noise and drone on the freeway. Thats a big reason why I don't like CVTs, and don't like Hybrids.

My 2 pfennigs might be too late, hope you're having success in your search. I;ve had a 2010 for over 2 years now. I don't think the drone and engine noise is excessive around town or on highway. Of course I expect a GS to be much more refined. Little wind noise, but there is road noise on the highway - very dependent on road surface and the tires, but I find this to be typical with any modern car. Around town, I do feel the engine start and stop, but don't consider that excessive either.

I don't feel the HS is bad at all cruising on the highway, even doing 80. At least, with the right tires. Where I notice the unrefined nature of the drive train is under acceleration - the engine does sound raspy and un-Lexus like when pushed hard. And the CVT has a lot of throttle lag.

It is still a lot quieter, more refined sounding under acceleration, and faster than the 1.8 Prius engine.

Just purchased a 2010 with 110k miles for 10,900. Navi, back up camera, remote start, etc. etc.

I was a Toyota shop foreman and hybrid certified so i didn't mind the higher mileage. luckily the dealer we got it from allowed me to take the car to my shop to inspect it and and perform a health check. Luckily no real issues, just a timing chain tensioner leak, but that's an easy fix.

Mait. Items will be done this week to catch it up to its current mileage but over all we like the car so far.
