Default Replace HS250 OEM battery with what aftermarket battery???

My battery is dead on my 2010 Lexus HS250H. Toyota wants $288 for a new one. And, as usual, I can't get anyone on the phone in Mobile Lexus to even ask a question.

Can anyone advise on a cheaper battery I can put in there?

I recall a thread on this last year - I don't think you have many options. Most battery places likely don't have one in stock anyway, unless you can wait to get it ordered online. Not much demand. And it's a special technology, not a lead-acid battery, so none of them will be cheap. This is one of those parts that you might just have to pay up for the dealer.

Yeah every place I've called has nothing listed for the vehicle. I was hoping there was just something else I could throw in there. I mean, there are other AGM, deep discharge batteries. But I've never had more trouble searching for information online than trying to find a AGM battery with deep discharge, maintenance free and that has a vent and would fit in there.

Would a regular battery that is vented work? If CA is too high would it possible hurt the car/electronics?

I guess it would work, and no more CCA won't hurt anything except your wallet. And the more amps, the bigger the size of battery. It might not fit back there.

I figure it's a AGM battery because of the location. Usually a gas mat battery won't leak or burst.

The odd thing is the Camry Hybrid uses the same battery for some reason. Maybe it's located inside the passenger compartment like the HS. I'm not sure. I'm not sure why this type of battery is used in these hybrid systems. It's just a 12 volt battery, after all. It might just be the location.

Anyway, the part number is:
28800-28100

Also it says it's a .. S55D23R... battery. I saw one for $165 with a fast search of that number.
