Default Driver/Passenger side view mirrors

Hello all!
I’ve had the car for almost a month and I’ve noticed both my mirrors are becoming “cloudy”. What looks like “steam rising” or “condensation”in the picture is IN/ON the mirror. I thought it was just dirt or dust after I bought it. It makes driving home in the evening nuts! The light from other cars are “scattered”. Is this common on these cars? I wonder if Lexus would address it.

Regards.

Sorry, haven't experienced that on mine, and I've had it 5 years now. But I'm in NC, so maybe our climate is just different. Maybe the previous owner (or the dealer that sold it to you) had applied some kind of cleaner or protectant to it, and it's now aging. I've seen this kind of thing years ago on my windshield a few weeks after applying that rain-repellent stuff.

It may be rain repellent wearing off. I would clean it with some vinegar based glass cleaner and a microfiber towel.

Wow, that's a strange one.

Maybe the previous owner left the heat on too much and the heating pads are causing the clouding.

And I think they are self dimming also. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I'd say by the pictures, the clouds are in the glass, not on the glass. Right?

If that's the case, you might need two new mirror glass assemblies. Maybe Lexus will cover it if you stress it's unsafe.

If the car is out of warranty it is quite easy to change too! There are several posts on how to change the puddle light. The first step of the process require taking the mirror out. Search it up.
