Default Reverse Light

How do you change the reverse light? I saw the cover on the trunk lid, but cannot get it off. Any tips?

Hi,
I just went outside to my car and pulled off the housing with my fingers. It uses those white plastic friction pins that most Toyota products use to hold panels in place. Just pick one corner and pull gently until it comes off. I put mine back on by just lining up the holes and pushing it back in place.

Until now, I haven't found any LED's that match the brightness of the factory bulbs. I saw some new super powerful ones but I don't want to spend the money on a "test" just yet. I used these bulbs:

The next picture is of the the cover you just pull off in the trunk to get to the bulb socket.

The third picture is of the space where the reverse light bulb lives.

And the last is of the difference between the factory and the new bulb. Not much difference, but a slightly whiter, brighter light. I'm still looking for a better LED upgrade.

But with those bulbs, wouldn't you see blue tint while looking into the housing? I am actually considering for a HID T-10 conversion for it. haha. Chances are slim tho.

Yup, you see the blue tint in the lenses. It's not too bad on my car since it is blue, but I know what you mean.

They are starting to come out with some high power, focused LED bulbs that might work great in the reverse light, but the cost is pretty high right now.
