Illuminated Door Sills Thread (Updated 01/04/11)
EDIT 1/4/11.
Okay Darrel just checked and the non Touring HS is not pre-wired for this door sill so its NOT plug and play. So this would require it needing to be wired by yourself or an independent shop to get the lights to work.
Also rear sills are not illuminated but just the steel plate.
Big thanks to Darrel at Sewell Lexus for making this happen. The discount code is posted as is the pricing. You will also note you can buy just the front's only.
Please use the discount code "Mike" and a set of 2 sills have to be purchased to get the discount. In other words 1 set would be front, another set would be rear. So the discount code works if you just want the front set.
Please scroll down to post 16 for all info!
Here is an example from an IS. For newbs basically instead of the black plastic on most HS models on the floor by the door you get a nice metal piece with Lexus and it lights up when you open the door. Its a nice touch. The original RXh had it in orange and Lexus moved to blue lights.
Hopefully the installation is as simple (pop out, plug in socket, pop back in). I will ask a couple of our vendors for a possible GB if there is enough interest. This is a mod we have done here on other Lexus vehicles for years.
I have no idea what pricing is yet but please post if you are interested anyway. I will try to get pricing as soon as possible.

No, I don't play soccer!
I imagine it is plug and play. The RX has the wires already in place. Install is pretty straight forward. Sewell carries them for both the 350 (white) and 450h (blue).
Mike, funny you should mention the orange sills on the RXh. I had them in my 330 with the performance package. I could never figure out why that color, even more so on a hybrid

I liked the orange...it matched the other ambient lighting in the car. Back then, there was no such thing has LEDs in interior lighting. Also back then, all four doors had illuminated door sills.
