awww..no sushi

as for the dinner cruise, ive been on a couple of them, star of honolulu and some other one. both were about the same. one thing about those, the main thing about those is the views of the city which are incredible. the food...ehhhh, just be careful, i know many that have gotten upset stomachs and diarrhea after eating.

for steaks, DK's is ok, but imo, if you're not going to Ruth Chris's, then go to HY's. those 2 are the 2 best on island.

and if you do eat in kaimuki,(big city diner, cafe miro <---this one is really good) then eat dessert at either cafe laufer, or jj's french pastry...mmmmmm!
another really good place in kaimuki is 12th ave. grill...that place is superb.

and to check out reviews...i do recommend http://www.yelp.com

if you're looking for an italian place in waikiki on thurs i'd recommend Arancino
http://www.yelp.com/biz/arancino-on-...query:arancino

or you could try Matteo's but I don't think that place is any good these days

hmm... i'd pass on the zoo and aquarium, well the waikiki aquarium is okay for the price i suppose and sea life park is better but if you've ever been to any major aquariums then i would pass on these. as far as the zoo goes, seriously our zoo here is lame but same thing for the price i guess it ain't all that bad
but if you've never been here like mentioned you should check out the Poly cultural center, heck even us locals check that one out once in awhile
but have fun most of all. oh and i don't know if anyone mentioned this but if you are going to check out the PCC then find out how to get to laie point... its nice there

I'd suggest slotting the Diamond Head hike on the same day as your zoo/aquarium visits. As mentioned, they are really nothing particularly special. You can probably whip through both fairly quickly before/after your hike.

My all-time favorite Italian restaurant down here is long gone...Castagnolia's. Perhaps you might try the Hanohano room at the Sheraton? Great view.

I'd pass on the zoo and aquarium visits as well....you probably will be disappointed since both are small compared to the ones on the mainland.

I'm with 808IS3, you should squeeze in the Polynesian Cultural Center (unless thats not quite your cup of tea). Maybe Saturday since you'll be up there on the North Shore. Note: PCC is in the mormon district, so they are closed on Sundays.

I'd stick the Diamond Head hike in on Wednesday. It's not going to take all day, maybe 2-3hrs max. And don't forget the sunscreen!

Hey guys, any suggestions on Airport to the Ilikai Hotel? There are some shuttles here:

http://www.hawaiiactivities.com/acti...earch_0sort=11

or is it best to just hop a cab?

I kind of want to rent a car so I can do this self guided lost tour for Airport to Waikiki: http://www.lostvirtualtour.com/lost/...iki/index.html

but does that mean if I only want to rent it for the day, I have to return it to the airport, or can I return it to the hotel?

There are alot of shuttles right in front the baggage claims. I would call the RAC companies and see if you can return in Waikiki. I know its available, but don't know if there's a charge.

not sure how much a shuttle would cost but if you catch a cab, it'll probably be around $35
