Default Shopping a 2014 GX, How is my price

Walked into a dealer and started talking numbers on a 2014 GX 460 Base with 5000 miles that they had.

Best price they could offer as I was walking out was 47k +TTL which ended up being a hair over 50k OTD.

I have been trying to configure the car based on what packages I thought it had:

-GX 460 BASE
-Navigation Package
-Body Mouldings Painted Body Color
-Trunk Carpet
-Lexus clearbra on front portion of Hood

I think the car came out to around 53,000 MSRP or around there.

I was wondering because It's hard to figure out from Lexus site, which 2014 models came with power 3rd row fold out seats ? Do all 2015 models come with the power fold out seats ?

Anyways was just seeing as what you guys thought about this deal.

The painted body molding became standard on the 2012 I believe.

Trunk carpet? Is this a mat? Carpet is standard as well.

All GX460s have the power 3rd row.

Good Luck....

Not all GX 460s have power 3rd row. Lexus switched that up in 2014 when they redid their packaging. Power 3rd row is only standard on the Luxury trim for '14-15 models. I had a '13 with it and now a '14 that does not.

As far as pricing goes, off the top of my head, I don't think it's a good enough deal. Have you browsed through the "Price Paid" thread? That should give you a really good idea of where your deal stands. And pay more attention to invoice, not msrp. I believe invoice on a Base is $45k. If that's the case, either talk them down way further or pick up a '15.

Let us know what happens.

Default Shopping a 2014GX

The price is way too much You did not say if it was a trade- in or a so called Executive Car (demo). Legally if it is a demo it is considered new because it has never been registered. But no matter how you cut it this is a used vehicle. The base price on the vehicle new was under $50,000. Being a base model and essentially a used vehicle I would not pay more than $45,000 and I think that is a little high. The price they are offering you should get you into a 2015 base model. Also, the 2015 Luxury is the only model in 2015 that has power third seat. I have a 2015 Luxury with Mark Levinson and carpeted mats and all season mats, with the entire front end in clear bra. I paid about $57,000 out the door. I live in a state that does not have sales tax, but does have a 3.75% transfer tax. This was included in my price. Also, in case you are not aware, the Base model does not have any leather interior in the 2015 model year. I am not sure about the 2014. They call it Leatherette, which translates to Vinyl. You can also check out another dealer and by all means try your purchase through their internet sales person. Generally, you get a no nonsense one time price. They know they may be competing with another dealer at this point.

I went through the Price Paid forum but really didn't see too much data on 2015 Base GXs. Everything I saw on truecar leads me to believe 2-2.5k off MSRP is standard but Sewell Lexus is local to me so I will definitely walk in before I talk more serious numbers.

The car had a few scratches on the driver-side door panel and trim. Like some of the silver paint was coming off of the door pull handle. Was like some dude wearing 5 rings had to rely on the door to pull himself up every time lol, is that a typical wear spot for these cars ?

It was an Audi dealer so they didn't know much about the history besides Carfax: that it was originally in North Carolina and brought to Texas then was a personal lease vehicle.

I agree with Valley101...it's a used car and you never get a 'good deal' with a used car...there's just no reference for comparison shopping. I recently heard ...not surprisingly, that used car are much more profitable than new. Go for a 2015

I bought 2015 Premium model (With 12 miles on it) for 51000 plus tax and TTL. No trade in was involved. Total OTD was 54300 for Florida taxes.
Absolutely no pressureto sell you additional services. I believe you would be better off looking new vehicle.

I have not done any research on that particular model, but knowing about prices and deals can say this:
On MSRP of $53,000 a new car deal would be around 10% -15%off and the dealers still making making money, since it a used car you would expect the price drop from msrp from 19-25%.

I would not consider this a good deal unless the price is at least $43,000!! Just my 02. How much were they asking?? If they are asking $47,000, then most likey they got it for $40,000-41,000. I would pay b/n $42,000-43,500 for it. $44,000 if its in prestine condition.

I figured it was high. They were asking 49 for the car. Before they came down to 47

This is the only thread that I've referenced for pricing.

When I was going through the process of buying my '15, I was specifically told (lied to) that only the Luxury model has the power 3rd row.
