Has anyone tried cleaning the engine of their GX460? I used to clean the engine of my previous vehicles using engine degreaser then shampoo and water rinse. I covered the electrical boxes so it did not get wet.

Is there anything in the 2013 GX 460 that I need to cover extra? Or is there anything that I need to pay special attention to this model before I start doing DIY engine car wash?

I've cleaned mine a few times, I just covered the alt. and cleaned and hosed it off. I used "Super Clean" cleaner in a spray bottle and rinsed with a hose, never touched a thing and it came out spotless each time.
