I guess I'll take it back in for service too look at it. It's like a electrionic noise very very slight vibration feeling on the pedal.

I guess they updated the braking system on the 2015 GX 460. As per the service tech when coming to a slow stop with the brake control system active the brake pedal will shutter a little.

Has anyone taken delivery on a 2015 GX 460 and feel the same slight modulation or shutter while pressing the brake pedal?

Thanks

toyota changed the brakes already from 2014? why would the brakes "shutter" when coming to a stop. Makes no sense to me.

Attached is the updated brake control.

Read #3 Precaution (a)

When the brake control system is activated, the brake pedal may shudder. This is normal occurrence of the system in operation and should not be considered a malfunction.

Default GX460 Panic Stopping

This may be a bit late for Timmer, however, I felt compelled to respond when researching this problem. You have my sympathy.
I called my dealer and got their 'I dunno' salute after I described the locking wheels and diving cabin when I made a hard slow down from 75 mph on the freeway. Whatever happened to the ABS advertisement regarding control? I was able to recreate the problem at around 35-40 mph on a local street with no one around then, as luck would have it, scared the crap out of everyone including myself again, it happened for a third time the very next week. I was lucky to regain control before I left the lane of traffic I was in. Can't imagine what PCS is like Randy.
This issue should be a safety alert for Toyota/Lexus, not just a 'feature'.

I have had this happen a few times and I must say, I don't like it. I like to be able to control the braking myself, gradually or aggressively if necessary. Seems to be an amateur driver responsive system.I guess Lexus knows best about what it takes to stop the heavy truck aggressively.

I am starting to notice a very subtle pulsation when braking at times before a complete stop. Pressing brake
about 1/4 of way i feel a pulse sometimes. You need to have thin sole shoes to feel it or drive with no shoes, but its there. Very different feel from 2010. It does feel uneven, but brakes in general feel stronger. Anyone else feel this.
Someone else pointed this out on a 2015 as well. i will post there too

Yup and the brakes does feel stronger compared to my 2013 LX.
My wife notices it too but she does not mind and she loves the truck which is hers.

Also I feel the GX handles much better than the LX and it does not have that boat feeling. Wish the LX had the KDSS which does help.

I have a hard time understanding the terms pulsation and modulation (blame my ESL) but on my '15 with about 300 miles when you first step on the brake, the first .25-.5 seconds you will hear the zzzzzzz sounds (every time). Is this normal? What is that sound for? Air brake? Air in master cylinder?

I will try to notice the brake vibration when I go to lunch and report back.

Update: This is NORMAL, confirmed by the master tech who rode with me.

Thanks.

I have an '15 with "similar" issues and I have it "fixed".

1- Everytime you apply the brake, the first .25 of the second you will hear the the zzzzzz sounds. Lexus told me it is NORMAL, brake works as good as it can.

2- Rattles increase at highway speed - they applied some foam in the Right wheel well and it fixed.

I just finished my 30 hours trip and 2000 miles in the last 72 hours. Everything is great.

I wonder why you have the same symptoms as mine and you have only 1 post?????? Are you another version of me? Are you "using" my symptoms? If it is all true then Lexus builds GREAT vehicles because they even manage to make the same "mistakes" on 2 different vehicles.

Thumbs up

Ok, the squeaking is "normal". I would not call it 'normal' for a car's brake pedal to do that but I can live with it. In the mean time I found some the rattling plastic cover described in that previous thread and used some gorilla glue black 'duck tape', some super sticky, hard core stuff and it seems to be holding until I can take it to the dealer to fix properly. That cover is so lose and rattles so much I can't believe they haven't recalled it.

Still like the vehicle. Thanks for the replies all.
