Default How to add factory inverter

I just bought a 2011 GX460 Premium, but it didn't come with the inverter. I'd like to add the factory inverter.

I know where the switch is supposed to go on the dash, and there's already an outlet in the rear on the passenger side. It appears the inverter is supposed to be mounted behind the panel in back.

I've found two factory inverters on a Lexus parts site, both with P/N 86210A. One is $660, the other is $330. Can't tell the difference.

Can anyone help me go from here?

I have 2010 and there is no switch.
Start your car and plug something in the outlet, it should work.
Let us know.

So,I think we have determined it is a standard on the GX. The OP quoted prices that seem to be quite high, so why is it so expensive to have the inverter replaced if necessary? I can buy a high output after market inverter for much less. Lexus part is the reason for the high cost or is it due to the part is specifically designed for the Lexus? I am not sure where the inverter is located. Anyone know where it is located?

Default Inverter

The inverter option is a Canadian only option and is part of a package that includes the cool box, which is not available in the us. The switch activates the inverter and changes the watts from 120 to 400 watts.

You have a base 120V inverter. In Canada as part of the package they get a switch which has a two stage inverter attached to it. The wattage is necessay to run higher yield plug in electronics. I imagine a heater for a tent and such as its Canada. Heck 400 watts startup power would about run a small microwave.

In the US we get one version of the inverter, and I imagine that is the cheaper one the OP listed. The OP needs to test his switch outlet like you posted, and see if he has voltage. If he doesn't than most likely he blew a fuse or the inverter. Eitehr way, the Sewell site will guide him to the correct part for a US model after he determines what is wrong if anything.
