Default 2010 cpo

I currently drive a 2004 GX with 96K miles. I'm considering trading it for a 2010 CPO GX I have my eyes on. It has 55K miles and the price is $33K. It has ML sound & tow package which I need.

Are there any major issues with the 2010's I need to look out for? Any comments on the pricing?

Surprised no comments. The 2010 CPO GX listed at 33K is no longer online, but I'm going to keep my eyes open.

Good point!

There is another 2010 base with 37K miles for $37k that has a perfect maintenance record at the selling dealer. I'm about 150 miles from the dealer and I have 2 vehicles to trade. This isn't going to be an easy transaction. The selling dealer is an Autonation shop so I may be able to run the trades through a local dealer.

not to ruin the fun, but i would consider a 2014 base. i dont know if its just me, but i feel the 2014 is way better built than a 2010. Looking back, there were several issues with my gx that gave me buyers remorse and my criticism pissed off many here. Good luck though.

Thanks. Another 10k is more than I want to spend right now. These hold their value well, so I'm comfortable buying CPO.

I'll search for some of your posts about your 2010, but it would be helpful if you would mention the biggest issues here. Thanks.

I would recommend going with the 2011 or 2012. First year models always seem to have issues and they are resolved in the next year.
I think you will find the difference in cost from 2010-2011 is minor and you can buy a newer model with higher mileage to meet your budget.

Yes, but you did buy a NEW 2010 and sold it before potential problems. I could be wrong but I like buying the following year vehicle.

I really got lowballed on my trades today at the local Autonation dealer. I also took both vehicles to CarMax to get an idea of the wholesale value. The local dealer was $1,500 lower on one and $1,200 lower on the other. The selling dealer will have to discount the car enough to make the deal work for me. As an alternative, I can sell the vehicles myself. I understand the effect trading in has on sales tax, but I may still be ahead selling myself and paying the full sales tax.

I tend to agree on buying a second or third year vehicle. I may just sell the vehicle that was my wife's (2013 Prius) and hold off on mine (2004 GX470) until I find the right deal on a CPO.

there were minor issues i noticed now on my 2010 after driving a 2014

soft brakes.
noisy back door/rear rattling.
jumpy transmission.

2014 drives almost like a different vehicle if you ask me and well worth the $ hit i took.

The 2014 is a better vehicle than my 2010, but it's 4 years newer technology and they've had time to make some changes. I wish my 2014 had the auto folding mirrors...

I appreciate everyone's input and I'll update this thread as I progress. It may be that waiting a month or so will bring the price of 2012 down to where it is in play.

My 2010 is great, no issues. I bought it 19,000 miles, and have about 41,000 now.
It's a base model with a lot of options, I am really enjoying it.
