Default What the heck is this on my tranny?

i took some picks underneath the 2014 and saw a black box attached to my transmission.
I dont recall having this on my 2010.

Also did i not get a skid plate to protect transmission? I think my 2010 had skid plate
I have to look again.

Though see if there is a part number on the box...that way you can search by P/N and find exactly what it is

yes. i guess i never noticed that before. mine says "432" in blue. didnt save enough of my prior underbody pictures. there
is no visible part number on it.

I think that's the transfer case actuator to shift between H-N-L in the AWD system.

yup, its the acuator for the hi and low. toyota made these out of plastic since the 90's
