Default Brake controller mounting in GX 460

I have a new 2015 GX 460 and need to mount a brake controller. What experience have others had with brake controllers on GX 460's, and where (and how) have you mounted them? Can you please include pictures of the mounted controllers?

thanks very much!

I mounted my prodigy low on the left side just to the right of the hood release. Screwed into the plastic and metal behind. Seemed like the only good spot that wouldn't interfere with airbags. Works fine there, not in the way when exiting the car.

I was thinking the same location for a Prodigy P3. I purchased some Velcro Sticky Back for Auto, hoping to avoid screwing through the plastic. I also got some 3M Auto Mounting Tape in case the Velcro fails. Both products advertise for adhering to vinyl. Any thoughts?

I've never had adhesive work out on stuff like this. The holes are small and the plastic trim is easy to get if I ever wanted to. Honestly doubt it. That was my reasoning anyway!

@sambrandt - sounds like you have it figured out but here are some pics since you asked.

Just clears the hood lever.

Harness velcroed up out of sight. Note white ground wire going left.

This bolt is perfect, unscrew it and attach the ground wire.

Here's the plug. It's up behind wire harness above the parking brake. Plug-N-Play

I am 6'4" and it's not in the way when getting in and out.
