Lightbulb 3rd row seat removal

Has anyone removed the 3rd row seat in a 2014 GX460? I would like more storage. Is there documentation on removing the 3rd row seat. I do not care if it may be difficult.

Remove or not remove.. It gonna give you same cargo space by fold it down.

Only true for large objects, I can relate to the desire to start removing rear seats in order to gain any additional cargo storage. I have a storage hatch behind my 3rd row in my MDX and could really use that same space in my GX and have no need for the 3rd row.

meitzler, if you do this please post basic procedure along with pics.

Search on t4r.org in the 5th gen section. It has been done and the seats are the same minus electronics in the GX.

i dont think you would gain much more space by removing 3rd row. 6 inchs or so in thickness from floor to ceiling may be gained.

Agreeing with T4Fun here. The problem is that the middle seats don't fold flat to the floor so the cargo gains are useless because the cargo area isn't level

Remove the 2 strap down screws and pull up the back deck, remove 3 screws and pull up the rear plastic and remove 2 screws on the metal plate. There are only 4 screws holding in the seats and the last pic shows the only wiring harness that needs to be unplugged.

Is the outlet in the middle of the floor, for the seat electric motor, or is it affiliated with some seatbelt warning system?

It was not attached to anything and my guess would be it is the tire pressure monitor. I tucked it in the back and have not had any trouble lights.
