Humm, most mid size SUVs have a 3rd row. I think there are other reasons why the GX/Lexus is purchased

No I don't think so at all. If they were 3rd row shoppers they wouldn't buy one with such a small third row that has no cargo space behind the 3rd row when it's up.

Agree...... The 3rd row is horrible, basically for children only and no cargo room when they are up.

Agree also. If the current 4Runner had the same 4.6L V8, I wouldn't be here. But Toyota got greedy and limited it to the Lexus brand in the GX. You'll see 4th generation V8 guys eventually popping up here when they start looking for their next vehicle. I see the 3rd row as virtually useless extra weight and taking up space.

In addition to V8, 4runner limited, if having option to add KDSS system (don't think it is possible in 2014 model), the price is close to GX460 base. GX460 is a good choice, plus GX460 still have large cargo room even folding down 3rd row seats. Neither X5, ML350, MDX, QX60 can compete!

Thanks for the pictures, don't think I ever need such small gain though.

Right there with you, if the 4Runners engine wasn't a complete dog I would be in one too. I sold my 2012 Limited to get a GX.

Preciate the information on the seat removal. Are you in Gainesville? Looking to purchase a 2011 and do a facelift. Cheers!

Hmmm...this could prove very helpful in adding sound deadening to the sub area. The rattling, even at moderate volumes, is terrible.

Default Removal of 3rd row seats for tool storage

Being that I never use my third row seats, I thought it would make the perfect place to put tools, etc. Has anyone torn out their third row seats? If so, please let me know if there is anything to know before I start or any tips you can give me.

Thanks

Drawer option with rear 3rd removed assuming you could get this one over to the states.
