Interesting 2014 Prado chassis changes
From an Australian review:
Suspension revisions aimed at improving the LandCruiser Prado’s on-road manners also formed part of the facelift. Roll-stiffness was increased in an effort to reduce body roll, the hydraulic power steering was recalibrated, and the tuning of the stability control and traction control systems was improved.
Even though it wasn't explicitly publicized, I think these updates/enhancements also made it to our 2014 GXs. Our mod Craig B has mentioned that this GX drives better than his previous one, and I can say that it drives better than the 2013 I test drove. This is seriously one "good-driving" truck!

Land Cruiser Prado wins Dakar 2013
I know some people will never take GX 460 off-road or may not even care how good it performs outside of pavement.
But I, for one, like the idea that I'm driving an incredibly capable and well engineered machine which have some impressive real world track record to back up its capabilities.
2013 Dakar T2 production class rankings:
#1 is Land Cruiser Prado with which Lexus GX460 shares the same platform.
#2 is Land Cruiser 200 so LX570 owners can feel equally proud too.
To all Lexus GX460 owners -- cheers!

It largely shares the same J150 platform, yes. Prado can be had with all off-road gadgets at the same time though, while 4Runner forces you to choose one over the other depending on a trim level. Prado which won T2 production category is a diesel as well which is not available on 4Runner.
