Default Painting Front Calipers

I wanted know if anyone has painted the front calipers, what kind of paint they used and if you painted them on or off the truck. I want to paint mine when I do the front rotors and brakes, but I can't decide if I should do it while the caliper is off or on the truck. Also, I think that using a brush instead of the spray may be a better deal in terms of easy to do and less mess.

i would personally take off the whole assembly to paint it. you dont want the paint where it should not go inside the area where the pads and piston rings are and covering the bolts and threads.

i think Koz took off his brakes and painted them black.
for a 60K vehicle, i dont know why lexus cant offer premium sport brakes with painted calipers and brackets.

My calipers looked terrible with 45k miles. I had them painted black when I had my wheels installed and the shop did spray with no removal. I have also seen other post with spraying on the vehicle, maybe this is a bad but convenient process.

most people do this, but it doesnt look as professional or good imho. Plus the spray gets on other parts of vehicle.

I haven't done anything with my GX yet but I did send out my calipers off of my Corvette and had them powder coated, they look awesome and have held up 100% for 3 years now.

If this were a nice sports car I would take them off to get powder coated but to me I think the G2 paint works great and as noted it is pretty cheap. I have used them on several cars (300ZXTT and SupraTT) and now on my LS600hL. This is my daily driver in rain, snow, salt, etc. and no issues even with the vinyl decals. Here are some pics of mine.
