Just 386miles on GX460 and have to visit dealer
On my wife 2014 GX , it had 386 miles seen we bough it .
For the last three days every time when it come to stop lights .
The engine making some kind of weird noise .. I meant LOUND ... Lounder than disel engine. Sound like metal to metal grinding noise . I check the oil level and belts fan everything is fine ..
Wonder have any one experincing of this noise like I do?

Yes, I think I know what you're talking about.
This is most noticeable to me when I come to stop lights or the car is idling with the radio off, especially if it is cold outside. Something is making a clacking/thumping sound. Like maybe the fan bearing is out of whack, or a pump/belt is failing.
It did concern me at first but I've been living with it for a few weeks. It doesn't affect drive-ability and there are no error codes/lights etc.
Also, around 65-70+ MPH, there is a whistling or turbine-like noise that develops at speed on the highway (again, radio off). Almost sounds like the muffled "whine" of a big diesel truck that is one or two lanes over. It goes away if you back off the throttle. I wonder if this is something to do with the intake/throttle? I was also concerned that maybe it was gear whine or a differential going bad.
Overall this truck seems to make some very un-Lexus-like noises. I'm trying to live with it since it's not really having any negative impacts. I guess it is a truck after all?

these are not normal noises. take it back to dealer and drive it with them. If there is any question, test drive another gx on the lot to prove the point. Lexus will address the issue. You can also post videos on youtube for us to hear the noise.

Okay guys .. First hey told me its not normal .. Then they said its normal due to big motor and its take awhile for the oil to travel to the top of engine ... I said no that isn't right ... Even after 15 miles down the road? Finally they agree with me to replace the oil pump ..it's been good and smooth now . I will be back and update with you guys in few weeks .
