2014 Lexus GX460 - Nuances
Hey Folks,
New owner of a 2014 Lexus GX460 Luxury. Wondering if anyone has successfully found the hidden service menu for this model? I've read many other posts for older models but not for this one.
Also, not sure if anyone else noticed these three particular nuances.
First, the US model does not offer the ice box in the center storage compartment. Only the Canadian model offers this.
Secondly, even though the manual clearly shows that the rear climate controls can be disabled, I have been unable to get this option to display on the screen.
Lastly, has anyone been able to get video from an iPod/iPhone to display on the screen?

i think on the video, you will need to engage the parking brake. i know on my 2014 4runner i have to engage it to get any video. best to get a bypass installed to get around that pita.

i'm not sure if this applies to ipod videos.

For safety reasons, the DVD video discs can only be viewed when the following conditions
are met:
(a) The vehicle is completely stopped.
(b) The engine switch is in ACCESSORY or IGNITION ON mode.
(c) The parking brake is applied.
While driving in DVD video mode, only the DVD’s audio can be heard.
The playback condition of some DVD discs may be determined by the DVD software
producer. This DVD player plays a disc as the software producer intended. As such,
some functions may not work properly. Be sure to read the instruction manual that
comes with the individual DVD disc. (→P.267)

To operate the Video functions such as iPod video or VTR, a 4-pole AUX cable is necessary.

I am aware of this option but this is different than what the manual shows. It clearly shows that the rear climate controls can be disabled from middle row access.
