I haven't done the calculations, but on the Lexus site, it has:
$499mo.27mos.
$3,999due at signing, but with only 10k.
Have you test driven the GX? You do know that even compared to your X5 3.0, it will feel a bit sluggish and the handling will be sloppy. But, again, depends on what you want.

[QUOTE=Craig B;8343241]I traded in my 2009 X5 twin turbo diesel for my 2010 GX 460. My X5 spent more time in the dealers garage than my own.
HAHA , I had a lot a problems with my 08' too, newer with 06' I8.
My 08 was certified so not cost me$$$$$$ by many trips to bmw dealer, just sold right before :certified warranty expire ; 06/14
What do u think about deal I have :14' base with navi $52.4 msrp
12K/yr, 36months , $2k out of my pocket and $580/month all fee's , taxes , registration including paymants

Hi, I know nothing about leases, so you're better off asking around for someone else with some knowledge of leasing...

I'm a BMW fanatic. I've owned more than I can count and have 3 in my garage right now. However, the X5 is awful. I'd never own one. BMWs that are worth a damn are built in Germany, not South Carolina. When my wife wanted another SUV, I insisted on a body on frame truck based SUV with a V8 and real low range 4wd. We couldn't be more pleased with our GX460.
Welcome. I hope y'all enjoy your GX as much as we have!

When leasing never negotiate based on the payment.
Try and find out:
1. The MSRP
2. The sales price they are selling the vehicle for
3. The money factor
4. The residual
5. Drive off costs
6. What costs are wrapped into the lease
If you can find out all of those things I can tell you if its a good lease...

I think the culture of people working on a plant makes a big difference. A friend of mine imported his BMW from Germany for this very reason.
For example Jeep ranked as a complete POS in reliability and the problems people have are absolutely ridiculous. Injector wire harness falling out of the engine block, subframes not screwed up properly to a car... All discovered by just driving a brand new car off the lot. I don't have any explanation other than workers (and QA) simply don't give a crap for assembling these cars. And if American workers don't give a crap about assembling American brand they would probably give even less crap for German.
As for the GX Japanese are known to take enormous pride in what they do so the build quality of the GX is second to none.

I've been to the BMW plant in South Carolina several times. The processes for assembly are identical to Germany. The techs working the line have the same training. The QC checks are the same as in Germany.
Toyota, Subaru, Mercedes, BMW, I could go on, all build in the US.

I think part of the misconception is that "American workers" cannot assemble a quality vehicle.
This I agree is elitist BS. One of the big differences between say BMW's plant in SC or the new plant Lexus is going to build the ES at in KY is the quality of the plant. It makes a HUGE difference in an operation like that, something as simple as lighting...or workspace. Many of the US brand plants are quite old which contributes to lower quality products...these plants are state of the art.
Look at the latest IQS and dependability winners...many of them were built here in the US in modern, state of the art plants...some not even. IQS individual winners 2013 MOST are built in the US...Acura TL (Marysville, OH) beat out plenty of Japanese and German built cars. Buick Encore. Cadillac Escalade (where's the build quality second to none LX?). Chevy Avalanche/GMC Sierra, Chevy Camaro/Ford Mustang (tie), Chevy Impala, Chevy Silverado, Chevy Tahoe, Chrysler Town & Country, Honda Civic (Greensburg, IN), Honda CR-V (East Liberty, OH). Initial quality is where a lot of production errors and issues are discovered.
Americans certainly can build great cars.
