I bought my 2011 black GX off of someone's 2 year lease and keep noticing when the sun hits the rear directly I notice a difference in paint color. I can see the rear gate does not match the rear side panels and the plastic tag area piece does match the rear side panels so the metal part of the rear gate is the problem. I would think this was due to replacement but I pulled a Carfax report and the only thing on record is front corner minor damage and I do notice the quarter panel is a bit out of place. I do not see a person leasing a truck and then paying out of pocket to hide damage and also something would have to hit the rear gate with no other damage to sides, bumper or license plate area. Not expecting a response unless anyone has noticed this on there truck...Auctioned vehicles do have a questionable history. No other problems with gate so I guess I should stay in the shade.

After posting this I realize I do have some slight bumper damage so yes I assume the rear gate was repainted. My bad. The cost compared to insurance deductible would possibly be a reason to not show up on Carfax due to off the record. Sorry to waste your time with my issue.
