Default Tires on 2014 GX460 Luxury?

Which tires are coming on the new 2014's? None at my dealership right now so I am unable to check myself.

I've seen three luxury GX has Michelin tires, but one had the hitch tow package has Bridgestone one it, maybe the load rate different for the tow package?

Mine came with Bridgestone tires, so it's the luck of the draw. I had my dealer remove them and swapped them out for Michelin LTX M/S2's. The OEM Michelins wear out fast, I had them on my 2010 GX 460. The LTX M/S2's are a lot better in the snow. The Bridgestone tires are crappy tires with a very low tread wear rating. I have the Luxury model without trailer hitch. The hitch gets installed at the port, so it's the luck of the draw as to what tires come on your vehicle. I made the deal with my dealer before it arrived.

like craig said, both OEMs are horrible. best to change them out. check out tire rack for what people say about them

Thanks, everyone. I was hoping Lexus had stepped it up a notch on the tires. When I bought my Honda Ridgeline it had the Michelin LTX M/S's on it. If Honda can sell their cars with good tires I was hoping Lexus could do the same.

Craig B, were your new Michelin's part of your deal or did you buy the tires and they just swapped them for you? Is it common for some Lexus dealers to be willing to make a deal on tires? This is our 8th Lexus but the first one where I've really been concerned about the tires.

Thanks, again.

They swapped them at no charge. I never drove on the other tires, so they were still brand new and could be sold in their parts dept.

My '14 GX came with the Michelin Latitudes, my '13 GX came with Good Year. Neither were the Luxury models. Too early to tell on the MIchelines will last, The Good Year's drove very well, but after 18k miles I'd guess the tread was half gone. Maybe that's not bad, but I genreally expect at least 50k miles or more from decent SUV tires.

I had a pair of the MIchelins LTX/MS on a prior Jeep, and they must have stayed on for at least 80k miles. Those were great tires, and worth paying a bit more on the front end.

Default Tool kit

Randy B - your car came through Jax, right? Did it have a full tool kit or just 7 items?

I missing the same items. Would someone mind posting a picture and item list of what a full one looks like, and what we are missing?
