Annoying Oil Maintenance Reminder
My dealer changed my oil about 5000 ago and now there is a annoying oil maintenance reminder in the multi-info display. The GX only needs to have it's oil changed every 10,000 miles and I have scheduled a reminder in the reminder vehicle section of the reminder screen. I followed the instruction in the manual to remove the oil reminder out of the multi-info display but it does not work. Does anyone know how to remove the reminder? I have a feeling that the dealer put it in the display and only they can remove it. Thanks guys.

BTW, below the only method work on the 2104 GX, other methods such holding ODO/TRIP and ignition which is in the Manual didn't reset.
Got this from the Lexus SA yesterday:
1. Start car
2. Press the ODO/TRIP button to the left of the steering wheel.
3. Go to trip "1" (there are 3 meters), then turn off the ignition
4. While holding the ODO/TRIP button, and WITHOUT PRESSING THE BRAKE, push the ignition button twice, do not release the ODO/TRIP.
5. You'll see the Oil Maintenance dialogue in the center of the instrument cluster resetting. Release the ODO/TRIP when the dialogue is finished.
6. You're Done!

BTW, here's how to do it:
1. Start car
2. Scroll thru the gauge cluster menu until it is a blank screen
3. Turn off car
4. Press and hold ODO/Trip button
5. Push ignition button two times to the on position (without foot on brake)
6. Keep holding ODO/trip and should see oil resetting
7. Keep holding until you see oil reset COMPLETE
Go have fun

Oil Maintenance Required
Ok, we all know the GX has 10,000 mile oil change intervals, so why does my oil maintenance required message pop up every 5,000 miles? It's annoying.

I don't know what year your vehicle is, they changed it after the first six months of the 2010 model year to 10,000 miles.

I'm going to reset it myself but it's annoying, it's like they want you to come back and spend money that isn't needed. Seems like a ploy to me. I'm just wondering if there is a way to set it to come on every 10k as it is supposed to.

By the way, you can download the manual if you register on the Lexus official site. Kind of a pain, because you have to download each section (which is poorly described in the file names), but it is there.
