Default What's in store for GX in 2014?

I am in the market and need to buy a car to replace the family truckster within the next 4-6 month. I really like the GX and don't know if I should wait to see what changes are in store for '14 or just go ahead and buy the '13. I know any changes would be minor (not a major overhaul like reported with rumors of a true Lexus 7-seater crossover) but addition of a spindle grille may be worth the wait.

I cannot find ANYTHING on Lexus' plans for the GX for '14 and it's driving me crazy! I even stopped by my local dealership and didn't have a clue either.

This will be my first Lexus so I want to make sure I make the right decision.

Anybody out there with inside info?

I had the same problem last year, I wanted a GX but wanted the spindle grille and LED's, it was rumored to be on the 2013 so I waited and waited and visited dealer after dealer all with a different story, Finally visited the NY car show and spoke to a Lexus Exec he showed me the list of planned releases and no plans on a redesigned 2013, so I pulled the trigger and purchased a 2012. No regrets wasnt worth the wait. Bottom line I dont you you will be disappointed but if you want to be sure it would be wise to wait for a local car expo

I was in the same boat as LexusVet and end up buying 2013. Even if changes are coming the reality is that it's going to be the same vehicle underneath with some cosmetic changes and maybe minor features. Nothing major will happen till at least 2016.

There is always something else coming in the future.

The 2014 should have some mid generation changes. If I were looking at a new GX, I would wait to see the 2014. The problem is, can you wait?

Thanks Koz. I think I can wait...what do you think we are talking here...Aug/Sept. or Oct/Nov before they are in showrooms?

The 2014 will be out this summer with a new grill, LED running lights, updated interior and new navigation. That's what I've been told by a couple of dealers. I'm thinking about trading mine for a 2014.

Why not wait a couple more years and see how next generation looks like?

I will trade for it also if I like it. If it's a cross over, I will skip the next generation.

I think this is highly unlikely... where would the bump come from? As long as I remember previous generation GX/LX got bump due to VVT-I? Latest LX refresh had no change in HP, I think GX will be the same.

I hope you're right, but unfortunately, that's what we heard about the 2013 model. I'm so ready to see if they put the LX 570 spindle grill on the '14. I'm dying for any info or sneak peek.

I've been told by a GM at a large dealership as well as a salesman at another Lexus dealership. I was also waiting last year for the update as well. Most likely, I'm going to trade for an updated model...

2013 was the 4th model year of the current gen gx and there were no changes because Lexus was cheap and didn't want to spend the money. Bastards. Been waiting way too long for the update.
