Default Buying a GX

I am in the market for a 2013 GX. I am thinking to pull the trigger now taking advantage of the December to remember event. I don't know what special is there for GX, but I want to check with GX owners here. So what is a good deal price to buy? How much below or above invoice/ MSRP should I expect? Much appreciate your thought.

I think it's going to be hard to get any discounts on 2013 at this time of the year. 2012 on the other hand should be doable, if you can find one you want. GX isn't a big volume vehicle like RX so I'm not even sure December to remember is applicable for this model.

I wouldn't pay sticker for a GX. These aren't selling that well and dealers are wiling to deal on them.

My fiancée just came off lease with a GX and she was going to get another one, think the best deal she found on a 2013 was $1,000 over invoice and iirc that was from the dealer in Manhattan.

She ended up not leasing another Lexus though.

That is a great deal. Imade the same deal and just before delivery (I special ordered mine) I recieved a discount coupon that brought my price down to invoice. Got lucky!

When did you buy it? I figure at the end of the year I may have more power to bargain for a 2012 model

Good luck finding a 12 at the end of the year. There were very few left when I bought in July.

Default 2013 model price

my local dealer just got some new GX in, one is the color and interior we prefer. It is base model with convenience package, hihg intesity discharge headlamps, navi system, comfort plus pack. The MSRP is $59715. And I was quoted a invoice price of $56113.

What do you think would be a good starting price to negotiate? I am thinking maybe $5000 below the MSRP, it is too low, or not low enough?

You should always negotiate off the invoice! Anywhere between invoice and $1500 over is a good deal.

So will the dealer be willing to sell below invoice, consider they have incentives and holdbacks from manufactures? Also, do you think the invoice price I was quoted is reasonble relative to the MSRP?

You need to go on Edmunds.com and figure out the invoice price with all of the options you are looking at. There is no way to tell if the invoice you quoted is reasonable unless you looked it up.
