That cover is so lose and rattles so much I can't believe they haven't recalled it.

Still like the vehicle. Thanks for the replies all.
I AGREE with both of what you said.

The brake should NOT do that I will check out EVERY 2015 GX460 they have on the dealer lot to see if it is consistent....and the plastic should not do that neither. The fix is just a fix, not a design.

Update:

Just stopped by the dealer and tested a new 2015 GX460 Luxury. YES, the brake makes the same zzzzz sounds when it is depressed. Also, the plastic piece in the Left Rear wheel well rattles in the same manner as mine does as well.

Default Hate it!

It's my first time owning a Lexus after teens years of having a ML.
It gets on my nerves.
Can't understand why Lexus would put out a car that makes a hissing sound and say it's normal.
If I only I knew it when I was test driving, I would never have bought it.
Disappointment with first Lexus owned.

No vehicle is perfect, you can find a fault with any / every vehicle. If I think about the very minimal hissing noise I can hear it but like anything else you get used to it and not even hear it. If your that dissatisfied sell it and buy another MB. Your maintenance costs will be much much higher than the Lexus, if you've got the disposable income, go for it.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum. My 2014 GX460 has about 3000 miles on it. Since day one, the break always make a "HISSSSSH" noise, sound like the air is leaking from a hydrolic hose, everytime I apply the break in the drive position. I brought it into a local dealership to have it check out. I was told that it's normal on this new model of this GX. I was further advised that there is nothing they could do to minimize of eliminate the problem. Can anyone confirm if what the dealership said is true. Thank you.

They all do it. Nothing to worry about. Drove me nuts at first but now I don't even notice it.

My 2+ week old 2015 GX 460 does the same thing - slight vibration in the brake pedal at low speeds (like backing out of the driveway). I was wondering if it's normal, have not experienced this on any other cars. I wonder what/why it is doing it and why the 2015's are only one affected?

Default 2015 GX Brake vibration

I own a new 2015 GX Luxury edition and have had it almost a month and about 1000 miles. The brakes are just fine. When I test a new car the first things I check out is the brakes and the alignment to make sure the car tracks straight and the steering wheel is a perfect 180 degrees across. The brakes are solid. If a dealer tells you it is normal, look for another dealer to check it out.

My '15 has this brake issue & has had it from day one. I thought it might be the new pads getting/needing bedding, but has continued to 1800 miles. I'll see what service has to say when I take it in shortly.

Same here.... My 2 months old 2015 GX has the exact problem. I got the dealer to check the brake when I was doing the first service. They said everything is normal.............

It seems I can sometimes [edit: often] duplicate it by gently pumping the brake while in motion. It'll get the brief grindy feeling on the third pump. Very occasionally happens on startup with brake pedal depressed - as system is building pressure, same brief grindy feeling.

I actually love the brakes on the GX.

When I drive my wife's RX, those things are so sensitive that I end up almost causing wrecks. With the GX, it gives you that initial cushion of air and gets better the harder you press.
