What's That Noise?
Our 2010 GX 460 went in for its 30 month / 25,000 mile service this week and two noises were isolated and eliminated:
1. Several of the clips that secure the left rear wheelwell panels were missing, which caused a flapping sound as the panels were loose. Problem solved with new clips.
2. The tool kit in the rear door was starting to rattle as the vehicle moved over large bumps. The foam liner of the tool kit door was crushed and losing its resilience. Problem solved by adding a new layer of foam to press against the metal tools.
Regards,
SaniDel
P.S. For a vehicle that was manufactured in November 2009 with over 21 thousand miles it seems remarkably tight, quiet and smooth-running, especially for a body-on-frame truck. The tires have 6/32" remaining, the front brakes have 10/32" and the rear brakes have 8/32" remaining. It goes in for service twice a year, the wheels are rotated at each service, the oil and filter are changed once a year and we have it detailed when it is in for service. It has been the most reliable, trouble-free and low-maintenance vehicle we have owned.
