GX SportDesign Package
The newly minted GX SportDesign package will be available for retail sale the beginning of April.
The following 4 components make up this package that’s sure to be a crowd pleaser:
* Unique F SPORT Grille that improves air flow while providing the entire front end of the GX with a sporty,
aggressive look
* A set of F SPORT 18” Cast Alloy Wheels that are 12% lighter than the stock wheels, feature a premium
liquid silver high-gloss finish, and include unique spline drive lug nuts and wheel locks
* Bright chrome exhaust tip made of double-walled stainless steel featuring a wide oval tip
* Black or brown carpet floor mats with a direct-embroidered F SPORT logo on the front mats
All the components in this package are available only as a PPO, and are only offered together as a complete
package, so be sure to select PPO Code Z3 beginning with the mid-March allocation.

Other than lighter wheels ... and only by 12% ... there is nothing here to make the GX a better vehicle. For $2,000 we get a tarted-up version of an already excellent vehicle. Sorry ... I'm not impressed ... much less interested.

I don't think it's a 2013 refresh, but just an optional "sport" body kit. Am I the only person here who doesn't like the new spindle grill? I think it totally ruins the cool factor of a real SUV!

BTW – Lexus better wise up and make the accessories that are available to other Countries, available to the US.

I agree that this is not the 2013 update but if these parts are now available I would think you will not see the new front end. I don't think you can make a real decision on the grill and wheels from a picture. The wheels (IMO from what the pic shows) don't look like they would be worth buying as a replacement. I would go with the Perma-chrome OEM replacement wheels, they look much better.

While it is not the 2013 update, I am starting to agree with you that maybe the 2013 won't have the spindle grille. Some are saying that they will be able to order the 2013 in late May/June and now the sport design is going to be available in mid March? Why would Lexus off the sport design based on the older front end if they were going to change it all beginning this fall? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense so maybe they aren't introducing the spindle grille for 2013 or maybe they skip 2013 and maybe introduce it as a 2014 model in early 2013 like they did with the GS. Who knows. Any ideas Sewell???

The sport grill will be different than the non sport version. I think that's just an add on kit through the parts dept. would be my guess. I think the sport model will have a different sport tuned suspension.
