Default 2011 GX460 what is a good deal?

Hi everyone,

I am looking for 2011 GX460 base + NAV + DVD (aftermarket installed by lexus dealer). How much off MSRP (5% off 10% off etc.) would be a good deal to go for outgoing 2011 model. I am trying to find my threshold which if not met, will push me to buy 2012 model.

Thanks much!
bobby

I bought a Base in the end of July, no DVD, at almost 12% off MSRP. Cannot say this is the norm though.

People here say the discount you can get very much depends on your region and the level of inventory at your local dealers.

we got a premium loaded with over $4K in accessories for sticker last week. Basically they threw all of that in.

Lightbulb Is this good??

Just got a quote for 10% off MSRP on 2011. Please give me some insight because I am not certain this is good enough. If MSRP is 66.9 and offering 60.9. However, invoice is 57.9 and another grand for hold back. Thoughts?

I always start with invoice from Edmunds and work off of that instead of using a discount off of MSRP, it just seems easier that way. In my area $3,000 over invoice is a decent deal as the dealers in my area, about 7 within 30 miles, are not willing to go much below this as the demand is still too high right now since it is a low volume vehicle. The higher volume vehicles are usually pretty easy to get near or sometimes below invoice.

A dealer I talked with when I was shopping around said they regularly have Canadians come and pick up a GX over a weekend. All being the same, the MSRP in Canada is at least $10K higher.

So it doesn't hurt to shop beyond the 30 mile radius.

Don't forget the dealer kickbacks. They pay less than the Edmunds invoice
