Lightbulb Has anyone tried to change the footwell and doorhandle lights?

The GX 460 has weak yellow footwell lights that do not illuminate well. I spoke to Eli at V-leds and he said that he had never seen the type of bulb that the GX 460 uses for footwell lights. I would like to change the footwell lights to brighter L.E.D. lights. Does anyone know what type of L.E.D. lights we can use to replace the footwell lights? I have included some pictures of the footwell bulb below. Also, has anyone tried to replace the interior door handle bulbs.

I also noticed that the footwell lights dim when the car is shifted from neutral.

The glove box has the same type of light. Does anyone know how to replace these lights for brighter L.E.D. lights?

Has anyone come up with anything on this bulb style yet?

I haven't been able to find anything online as of yet.

That's exactly what I want! What did you use to swap them out?

Thanks,

A little more involved than expected. With the reply here I went to my garage to play again. If you are looking for a plug and play easy option I can’t help you as this led is odd so I modified. I will work on details this week.

A cheap mod and easy enough to do.

Originally started with a door light from a panel I have off.

Bought some light sockets that I had some LEDs for (interior lights).

Is this a temperature sensor on the passenger side?

Passenger side was easy to fit because I could drop the panel.

Cleared off the plastic housing for the original LED.

Went with a 9/16 hole.

Passenger side.

Passenger side

The drivers side is built into the floor vent and I didn't see an easy way to remove it.

To push the socket in from the rear there are 2 open sides so I left a lip on the socket to keep it in place.

9/16 hole again for driver side.

Snug fit.

Drivers side.

Passenger side.

In neutral.

Looking at this it is looking like modifications to these vehicles are a little more time consuming and not a lot of aftermarket support?

Quick Reply: Has anyone tried to change the footwell and doorhandle lights?
