Default Front Brake Pads

I'm looking to replace the front brake pads. The OEM pads produce too much black dust. Lexus had a low dust pad replacement for my IS but I don't see one for the GX.

I found these and was wondering if anyone has used them or could recommend any other low dust replacements.

Koz,

Give it some time. Those break pads do not give that much dust. I had the performance pads on GS350 which were terrible and Lexus replaced for regular. I could wash my wheels everyday. With GX I do it once a week.

I have noticed that when the GX was new I had more dust. Maybe this is due to pads being new or because wheels had some protector and the dust sticked more.

I used Wagner"Edge" on my 4Runner and they were really good. No dust at all, great breaking power.

Koz ... you've had your GX 460 for maybe a month and we've had ours for almost a year. We have seen no evidence of black dust on the front wheels and we have driven it for over 9,100 miles. How could our experience with the same vehicle be so different?
Regards,

I agree, on my BMW's the wheels would be dirty in one day. Not on my GX.

I get little or no brake dust on my GX. The BMWs really have a lot of brake dust. On the other hand, they also have some GREAT brakes.

there is no black dust on my gx wheels

if you use the hawkpads, be advised, they need to be warmed up before having effective stopping power. they dont work well when you first drive the car, but produce less dust....

I'll give it a little more time. Right now it takes about 3 to 4 days and there is dust, not real heavy but noticeable. I could live with this if I had to but with the low dust pads on my IS, I can go up to a week or two without dust. Brake dust will kill the wheel's clear coating if not removed ASAP!
