Default "Squishy" when braking

At less than 300 miles, a muted "squishy" sound started coming from the brake pedal area as it is depressed. The service writer says the tech reported it as, normal for the GX. Right

I have noticed a "squishy" sound and a mild vibration when I am about to come to a stop. I am taking the car in this Satruday to set the personlized options and I will mention it to them.

So far, it's just the sound, no vibration or apparent braking problem.

that squishy sound, or the "wet shoe" sound, is also on the 2010 4runner..it is the actuator/spring on the brake pedal under the dashboard. It is all drive/brake by wire system, so it is normal. If you get down there and push the pedal, you will see.

Hmmmm. Interesting. I would think braking should be a silent process. Well, I thought the engine on the LS460 was a bit noisy at idle in the beginning and it is normal for the direct port injection. BTW, the owner of Magnussen Lexus was telling me yesterday it looks like time/miles will be added to the drive line warranty and there will be a $1500 credit towards a new Lexus for the cars affected by the valve spring recall. That was mentioned previously on the LS forum so that will more than likely happen.

Same here, but I think the brakes are weak for this size vehicle. You have to be careful when stopped at a light. You have to really keep the brakes depressed, or the vehicle will start moving. I've never owned a car before that you have to really hold onto brakes at a stop light.

When I am stopped and the car is in drive I noticed that I have to watch out that the car might creep. We have to get in the habit of fully pressing on the brake when we are in drive.

stopping power for a vehicle this size from 60-0 is supposedly under 130 feet, which is pretty darn good. The "brake dive" is very evident - and from what ive read its eliminated by replacing the front shocks with ICON suspension on the 4runners which also has the same issue. The real question is whether the icons fit the gx 460.
