Our appointment to the get the VSC program updated is scheduled for noon on Wednesday 28 April. The Service Manager of Koons Lexus of Wilmington, Delaware called us directly to ask if we would like our GX 460 to be the first they have sold to be updated, which offer we accepted. We expect it will take an hour or less, but we plan to have lunch at an nearby restaurant while the service is performed rather than to wait at the dealership or take a loaner vehicle. We also expect a full tank of gas and a car wash for our trouble and would not be surprised if there are other amenities.

Notice Lexus GM Mark Templin's challenge to have all owner vehicles updated in one week. Let's hope that CR's dealer recognizes the need to contact them as our dealer contacted us ... CR isn't going to do anything until they receive a recall notice!

Assuming that CR gets the recall notice and makes the appointment to have their GX updated, they have committed to retest the GX to see if the update corrects the problem. Presuming it does, do we expect they will then rescind their "Do Not Buy"?
