What is sad is that it doesn't have to be a "dying breed"... Lexus shouldn't give me any excuse to not buy their product... In this country and in this price range the swing gate I believe is a complete failure.

Yeah, barn door stinks for my use; loading groceries or snowboarding gear in parking lots with narrow (almost all are) paths. Access to trunk when parallel parked isn't too bad, even easy, if you want to grab something small that hasn't shifted from left side of trunk but anything larger is impossible. This price range should have power lift gate.
