Hello All:

We just purchased a 2013 GX460 Premium. Starfire pearl, ecru, nav/lev, tow hitch receiver. We traded in our 2004 GX470 that had 90K miles on it.

We purchased the 2004 brand-new in June 2004 and enjoyed 8.5 trouble-free years with it. This is my wife's car and she gets attached to them, unlike me, as I like to drive the newest and bestest that I can afford! So I wanted something that is going to last.

When I made the decision to replace her 2004, I looked at the MB GL series, Range Rover/Land Rover, and Toyota SUVs. We just couldn't find anything we liked better than the Lexus. So, we went that route. Got a great price and a fair trade-in price from the same GM that sold us our 2004.

I gotta say, I'm impressed with this truck. I've had very limited seat time, but it really provides a fantastic ride. I'll echo some of the other posters that commented on lack of power, but hey, we didn't buy it to go drag racing. My need for power and speed is satisfied by my DD, an Audi S4.

Just wanted to say hello and add my name to the roll-call list!

Cheers!

Default 2012 gx

I purchased a 2010 IS350C expecting to leave the cold behind. After a year and a half, I traded it in for a 2012 GX. We are a Lexus family but have never purchased anyhting bigger then the RX. I am extremely impressed by the GX. Has every option available plus, privacy windows, pin stripping and weather tec mats. I walked in at the right time to purchase the sales manager's GX. He moved into an LX. He had it maxed out and for a GREAT price. 12,000k, maxed out with every option at ... $52000.00. AWESOME BUY!!! LOVE<3 LOVE my GX!!

Hello Club Lexus!

My wife and I are proud owners of a new Knight's Armor 2013 GX-460 with sepia interior which we picked up from the dealer today. We previously had two or three vehicles but we downsized and moved to Portland, OR from Vegas and live downtown in a condo. We have been looking for one vehicle that could serve as our everyday auto as well as tow our 23' Airstream with a GVWR of 6000 pounds. Our previous tow vehicle was a 2006 Toyota Sequoia SR5 4WD 4.7L V-8. The Sequoia was too large and ponderous driving around Portland's narrow downtown streets.

We were looking for a mid-sized SUV capable of towing our Airstream. We checked out BMW X5 35d, MB ML 350, VW Touareg TDI, Jeep Grand Cherokee and others. Although many of these other vehicles had high tow ratings, the European SUV's prohibit the use of weight distributing hitches. Although many people use the European vehicles for towing with WD hitches we were worried about liability issues should problems or an accident occur. The GX-460, with a towing capacity of 6500 pounds and occupant and cargo capacity of 1315 pounds , should be an excellent tow and everyday vehicle for us. We look forward to many years of pleasure driving the GX-460.

It's a great medium gray or charcoal and looks great with the sepia interior.

You have to shut them harder than before.

That is one of my minor annoyances with the GX, it does take more effort to close the doors than the first gen GX. Surprised your '10 wasn't the same. I assume the brake pedal effort at stop lights is the same?

Maybe it's the tires since you've got LTX M/S 2?

I think they've improved the brake pedal, I haven't noticed it like on my 2010.

It could be the tires, I had the OEM Michelins on my 2010. I'm glad everyone talked me into the LTX M/S2 tires. I didn't want the raised white letters, so they turned them inside out. The OEM Michelins wore too fast. I knew I wanted Michelin tires, just wasn't sure what the ride would be like on the LTX M/S2's. I had LTX tires on my QX4 years ago.

Drove it again this morning, the brakes work better than before. I don't notice I need as much effort to hold the brakes at stop lights.
