2010 gx should be right around the corner
According to Autoweek, the 2010 4runner will be introduced to the public on Sept 24th.

With the GX being on the same platform as the 4runner, it shouldn't be too long after the 4runner's intro that we see the new gx.

I've never been one to believe anything that's said from anybody at a dealership, especially the salespeople. They're the last to know. I'd believe these forums 200% before I believe anything coming from the dealers. Never the less, I'm sure the GX will come out after the 4runner is introduced. My opinion is that it won't be too long after the 4runner. I might guess January 2010 because why would Toyota wait too long before introducing it unless they're still in the process of testing or still trying to put the finishing touches on it.
One thing that will be nice to see is that when the 4runner actually is introuduced, we'll have a pretty good idea of what we might be able to expect for the GX in terms of possible equipment, chassis specs, and options.

The Prado will make its debut in Japan on Sep 14, so I guess the cars would be on sale some time in October. For the Lexus version, it should be some time after that; if we're lucky we might see it in November, but I think more like Jan or Feb 2010.

At least we can see that the new model will finally get LED taillights. Odd that it appears the new 4Runner will be getting rid of their LED taillights...seems like a step backwards for the 4Runner.

Seems like Toyota is trying to make the 4Runner go back to it's no-frills, off-roading roots, while further differentiating the GX from the 4Runner.
