Nice link, GrdnRxR. Pics are good.
I'm disappointed with the new interior in comparison to the new exterior. Where's the ergonomics and easy to reach center stack? Why is it set so far forward and close to the windshield that one has to lean to hit the buttons? So Honda Pilot-like, in my opinion. Not a bad thing, but certainly not ground breaking or even exciting to copy someone.
While I don't like the execution of the rotary dial for 4WD engagement (give me push button!) in the pics, it's SO SO much better than the ridiculously 70s transfer case stick taking up precious room on the console. That lever bugs me every time I see it, so I don't looK! Ignorance is bliss.
If I understand the folded rear seat picture correctly, they fold forward. While they're not flat, they're at least not cramping the width of the cargo area or covering up the rearmost windows (that need to be power activated).
Did you check out the active cruise on the wheel and the Infiniti-style volume control? Both are very nice additions, but here's hoping that the more important heated / cooled seats and true keyless start / stop have been added.
* Someone on the "other" new GX thread summarized quite nicely the additions needed to the new GX. I agree almost completely with their list.

I think the current Prado looks better than the new one; the 09 model looks more lean because of the boxy exterior (which I like), and the 2010 one looks a bit softer and more of a RAV-4 design. I guess the ladies would like the new model better?

RFO! My 2004 has been such a great set of wheels and the timing on this one is perfect. I want some more modern conveniences and besides, mine's getting dirty.
I was so afraid they were going to make it look more "Soccer Mommish" but no way. It still looks a "man car" and one of the few SUV's I I can drive aropund without feeling like I'm driving my wife's car. I couldn't be happier and I'm ready for some upgrades.

I really hate how the current "styling" trend is to have a taller belt line.
WTF... give me more windows please, so I can see where the f I'm going.
I don't need the "chopped" look, especially on my truck. Look at the rear window... how big does that C pillar need to be?
I think the current GX is going to be a "looker" many years from now. Toyota doesn't seem to be improving it... in fact they're destroying it.

That is what worries me here... If the GX is still intended to be like the Prado, we may be in for a rude awakening. From the back, that Prado looks like a Highlander or a large RAV4 (like someone else said earlier), so unless Lexus gets really, really creative with their design, I am afraid that I don't see how they will pull off something as stylish as what we have that commands the pricing of the current GX, not to mention the likely-higher price that's coming. I mean, as much as I love the likely technology upgrades, that's only part of the equation.
With all that said, I do hope you are right, believe me...
