Spy Shots: 2010 Lexus GX 470/4Runner?
In case someone may have missed this:
Spy Shots: 2010 Lexus GX 470/4Runner?
Leftlane News has posted spy shots of either the 2009 Toyota 4Runner
or the 2010 Lexus GX, you can take your guess picking which.
In all honesty, with those extended tail lights, it looks more like a
transformer in mid-change — a very effective camouflage job, indeed.
The rear looks widened, and even a bit longer, but it could just be a
result of the tarp.

That is an old pic of mule that became the new LX/LC.
It seems Toyota's SUVs have been on 7 year cycles, which means that if the current 4Runner went on sale in 2003, I think it's reasonable to expect that the redesigned 4Runner will show up in very late 2009 or early 2010 as a 2010 model.
There is no incentive for Toyota to bring a redesigned 4Runner to market any sooner than yet.

Looks like they changed to a tailgate?
Hello all,
From the spy photos, if in fact this is the new GX, look closly at a blown up version of this picture you can see a gap of aprox 4" above the bumper . In the 2008 GX there is no gap because the rear door is hinged from the right. If I am correct they added a tailgate.......Excelent move.
I had put a deposit down on a new LX570 but decided it was to large. Then I was going to buy a 2008 GX but am not in love with the rear door. So now I will wait for the 2009/20010? Hopfully it will come out in 2008?

I agree with others - This is a 2008 Land Cruiser test vehicle. Tail pipe, 5 lugs, LED break light size/location, rear bumper shape, front fender shape, side mirror shape/mount, cover on the "bug eyed" front lights, rear lights cutouts, rear door window vertical divider, rear wiper right side, overall size. All of these point to Land Cruiser. Sorry, I think we have to wait and see what Toyota will come up with for the GX. Keeping my fingers crossed for a nice common rail twin turbo diesel + 7 speed trany/transfer - one may dream.
