Default My car has (ahem) gas!

This was talked about a while ago. My car loves to do the sulfer thing, especially when colder, or when I accelerate hard and stop.

I've seen some differences by brand of gas, but I can't totally shake it. Really embarassing for business trips. Any ideas?

Unhappy GX470, IS A GAS, GAS, GAS

I have the same sulfur problem. I have tired Mobil, Exxon, Shell, Getty, Hess. BP, Amoco. Still have the problem. I have met other GX owners who use the above gasoline who never get smells. Lexis Rep claims it is brand of gas and that Lexus will not allow dealers to look into problems. You call the Lexus 800 line and you get part time college students who do nothing!

Having worked on these vehicles for many years the thing is running rich and destroying the catilyst in the converter. Go to the local airport and fill up with 100LL aviation fuel and they will have to replace the converter and look into the problem.

I have found a brand of gas locally that has eliminated the smell. The gas appears to have a lower sulfer content.
