Looking at '06 GX 470
We recently fell in love with the LX 470, but there is no feasible way to transport it to Alaska from Texas (my pregnant wife and 3 yo daughter are flying and I'll be driving a U-haul) because it's "too wide, too long, and too heavy" for the car trailer.
We stumbled across a 2006 GX 470 with less than 115,000 miles on it, but the service records on Lexus only go back to 65k miles. I have no idea if the big 90k mile service has been done (I know on our ES and RX, the timing belt cover can be seen and it has hand written dates and miles on it), and don't know if I can even see the timing belt cover to check for dates.
We're going to test drive it tomorrow, what all should I look for, common problems, etc. They're asking $15,300 out the door.
Thanks,
Jason

No receipts or records on the timing belt mean it hasn't been done, as far as I'm concerned. Especially if you can't see any tool marks on the crank bolt.
Common trouble areas that are expensive to fix:
- Transfer case leak
- Rear suspension airbags
- Radiator
