Pandora + iPhone = Fun road trip
So I just returned home from our week-long road trip to LA and TX. Racked up 3100 miles and my GX ran like a champ. I must admit the ride is quieter and much more comfortable than even in our '11 Sienna. Family of 4, full luggage, traversing hills/mountains of VA and TN, AC running, and speeds averaging 75 mpg with a few spurts to 85, I was very impressed with an average MPG of 19.5
I just wanted to share some pics of the set up of my iPhone mount on the vent. It was also high enough to serve as dash-cam too. My 6 plugged directly to the Aux jack, and Pandora music was endless for hours on end. It helps to have unlimited data
BTW, The GX suffered a nasty flying rock en route. Tractor trailer pulled out to left lane to pass another truck right in front of me. I had no where to go but stay behind. It wasn't even more than 5 seconds after he pulled in front of me....CRACK! The damn star is the size of a half-dollar

That mount/placement is very functional, nice work! What brand mount did you use?
I've seen lots of cheap vent mounts, and have been using RAM mounts recently which I'm really happy with, but I don't think they have anything for here.
I recently got a decent stone chip on our windshield too, it sucks. Getting it fixed tomorrow actually.

It's a Koomus air vent phone mount. I bought off Amazon for around $15. It's a very good location because it's literally right next to your right hand, and your eyes don't travel far away from line of sight.
Good thing your chip is repairable. Mine is beyond repair :-(

Burny- I sourced standard audio jack cable from Best Buy. IIRC, it was less than $10. One end goes to iPhone headphone jack, and the other end plugged to my Aux jack (2007+). BTW, the phone will charge from cig lighter simultaneously while playing Pandora.
